THIS is the mangled wreckage of a car after it flew off a busy dual carriageway and plummeted 30ft on to a cycle path below.

Miraculously, a man and woman were left with just minor injuries after the horror crash on the A2 near Canterbury in Kent today.

Dramatic footage of the aftermath posted on Facebook Live shows a white hatchback crumpled on its side on the path.

A woman can be heard groaning from the passenger seat and crying out in pain - but amazingly she only suffered a broken ankle in the horror.

The man who was driving the car was also thought to be conscious when they were both taken to hospital.

Two ambulances, three paramedic cars, an air ambulance and police and fire crews were scrambled to the crash at around 11.29am today.

A gap was left in a barrier on the side of a bridge over the cycle path below after the car hurtled off the flyover.

A Kent Police said: "Kent Police was called at 11.29am after a car went through a barrier on the A2 London-bound near Wincheap, Canterbury, and overturned onto a footpath below.

"Officers are currently at the scene along with colleagues from the fire and ambulance services."

Photographer Sean Vincent, 25, was first on the scene after the vehicle plunged on to the path below.

He said: I was doing my shopping walking home like always round the fields under the A2.

"I heard what sounded like a lorry losing its load big bangs. I then saw a car landing under the bridge in smoke.

"I ran to assist and then others joined after 5- 10 min the emergency services arrived."

He said the car had two passengers - a man and a woman - but the female was in a bad way.

"I spoke with the female she complained of her legs hurting," he added.

A South East Coast Ambulance spokesman said: "Both patients were conscious when taken to the William Harvey Hospital. The woman had suffered an apparent ankle injury."
